The International School of the Sacred Heart in Tokyo was founded in 1908. It is an English speaking school for girls from Grade 1 through Grade 12, and a co-educational Kindergarten for three to five year old's. (Boys are only accepted into the Kindergarten program (ages 3-5).) The school offers an international program based primarily on the curriculum from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. The school basically follows the North American school year calendar beginning in late August and concluding in mid June. ISSH offers its Grade 11 and 12 students the opportunity to challenge themselves by taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses.

The International French School in Tokyo is an establishment of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) within the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The school accepts students from kindergarten through high school, providing instruction in accordance with the French curriculum. Most courses are conducted in French, but foreign-language instruction (in Japanese, English, German, and Spanish) also constitutes an important part of the curriculum. French/English bilingual classes have been created in the primary school, while a bilingual Section européenne for Social Studies is on offer in lower secondary. Finally, the Option international du Baccalauréat (OIB) is available to Japanese-speaking students in the upper secondary school.
