Most follow the DSSV (Deutschen Schul- und Sprachvereins für Nordschleswig) curricula and provide Danish and a German leaving certificates (Danish: studentereksamen; German Abitur) to graduates.

A German-Danish school with an equal exchange of both languages and cultures. The school is founded on Christian traditions and has links with the Saint Peter's Church. The school operates from 0 to 9 Class (like the 1st to 10th class for the German system). The end of the ninth Class, students take the nationally recognized testing center "Folkeskolens Afgangsprøve" in Danish, English, mathematics and physics, and a limited selection within the subjects German, religion, Gesel'lschaftskunde as well as biology and geography. Students may at its discretion also be tested in French.
