All employees in Malta receive annual pay increases relative to the cost of living. This remuneration is governed by Malta’s Wages Councils or through collective agreements in specific industries. Remunerations are applied uniformly to Maltese and foreign workers. Expats seek and find jobs in both Maltese companies, foreign companies with interests in Malta, and foreign countries with interests outside of Malta. The ICT, finance, i-Gaming, pharmaceutical, and tourism sectors are particularly strong in Malta.

Note: Employment License regulations are expected to change in the coming year(s) as the EU Blue Card system is implemented in Malta. As of this writing, the EU Blue Card system is not yet in effect in Malta.
